About this directory
What this directory is
Ontario Excavation & Demolition Directory tracks 200 demolition and excavation contractors across Ontario, built for property owners, contractors, and site managers who want a straight comparison instead of a pile of ads. If you’re weighing a residential teardown, a commercial strip-out, or a straightforward excavation job, the goal is to give you a fast, honest read on who’s actually doing solid work.
We are also an independent directory and comparison resource that generates enquiries for local providers. When you ask to be matched with a contractor, we pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request, and we may earn a referral fee for that introduction. That arrangement is disclosed on the quote page, and it never touches how a business is scored or ranked here.
How listings get built
Each profile starts from public business records, licensing and registration details, service areas, and equipment or crew information a company makes available. On top of that, we synthesize patterns from recent Google reviews to gauge things like responsiveness, cleanup, and whether jobs finished on schedule. We don’t republish review text or copy star ratings wholesale; instead we link out to the business’s Google listing so you can read the original reviews yourself.
How rankings work

Every ranking is earned from a published rubric applied to that data, nothing more. There’s no paid placement track that moves a company up the list, and no editor manually bumping a favorite. The full scoring breakdown, including what counts and how much, is laid out on our methodology page, so you can check our work rather than take our word for it.
Sponsorship, where it exists, works differently and stays separate. Sponsored placements are clearly labeled “Sponsored,” shown in their own section apart from the earned rankings, and paying for a sponsored slot has zero effect on a business’s score or its position in the ranked list.
Corrections and control
A listed business can flag and correct factual details on its own profile: address, phone number, service area, licensing info, that sort of thing. What a business cannot do is edit its own score, sentiment reading, or ranking. Those come only from the rubric and the underlying data, applied the same way to every listing.
Who maintains this

Sofia Vogel, Senior Editor, oversees the rankings and how the rubric gets applied across the directory. The database refreshes monthly, and each listing carries a “last verified” stamp so you can see at a glance that it’s being actively maintained rather than left to go stale.
Who publishes this
This site is published by Ontario Excavation & Demolition Directory, live since 2026 at ontario-excavation-demolition.ca. It launched to address a real gap: property owners need contractors with transparent pricing and a verifiable track record, not scattered ads and inflated claims. You can reach the publisher through the contact form on the site or by emailing ontariodirectorypartners@gmail.com.
